Development status of dairy packaging machinery in China

In recent years, with the rapid development of China's dairy industry, the competition among dairy manufacturers is becoming increasingly fierce, which also drives the development of its related processing and packaging machinery industry.  The domestic dairy industry competition with serious homogeneity of industrial structure focuses on the competition of milk source, market grab and technological upgrade. Except for a few dairy giants, most dairy enterprises are looking for effective ways to transform their limited resource advantages into market economic benefits, looking for survival and development space.  People's pursuit of quality is always improving, and production machinery must be constantly updated to meet the changing needs of the market, especially in the current economic conditions of Rapid development in China.  Liquid packaging machine is also developing in progress, constantly expand new functions, the application of new technology. 

Development status of dairy packaging machinery in China

In the context of the vigorous development of China's dairy industry, people have ignored the development of packaging machinery technology, which is an indispensable part of the industrial chain, in the various debates surrounding milk source, market and industry.  At present, the development of Dairy packaging machinery industry in China has some contradictions as follows: the contradiction between the low level of primary products and the high safety requirements of terminal products. As milk is a kind of food with high timeliness, it is necessary to ensure that the microbial indicators of terminal products meet the requirements of food safety in the process of processing and packaging.  There is a big gap between the microbial indexes of fresh milk in China and those of developed countries. 


This requires that in the process of milk processing, the technical performance of the processing and packaging equipment used to ensure the safety of the end product has higher requirements.  That is, from the processing and packaging process of each working procedure, from the excellent equipment on the technical state must be guaranteed.  Minimize the impact that may be caused by process equipment technology.  However, in order to make the difference of their own products and compete for the market, dairy enterprises artificially thicken and adjust the flavor of raw milk, changing the original processing technology of raw milk, thus placing more weight on the technical responsibility of related processing and packaging equipment. 

Over-reliance on imports

From 2011 to 2015, the total output value of China's food and packaging machinery industry is expected to exceed 600 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of about 16%.  However, the excessive dependence of Chinese packaging machinery on foreign high-end technology has seriously restricted the sustainable and stable development of Chinese packaging industry. 


It is reported that behind the rapid development of China's packaging industry, a large number of complete sets of equipment with high technical content are still dependent on imports, and a large amount of foreign exchange is used to import complete sets of high-end equipment every year.  Such as plastic film two-way stretching equipment, a production line of nearly 100 million yuan, from the 1970s began to introduce, so far, the domestic imports of 110 such production lines.  In addition, aseptic packaging boxes and filling equipment widely used in dairy industry are almost all provided by Tetra Pak of Sweden. 


Compared with foreign countries, the gap between Chinese machinery manufacturing level is mainly reflected in technology.  At present, no one has developed the world's cutting-edge technologies such as high-pressure sterilization. The development of such cutting-edge technologies requires investment in both knowledge and equipment. Enterprises are reluctant to invest, and scientific research institutions have no strength. 


Facing the future development trend of food packaging, domestic enterprises should base on scientific and technological innovation and strengthen independent innovation;  Gradually implement the production and operation mode of "big strong small specialized", and form a "differentiated" market competition system;  Attach importance to green packaging, put an end to pollution and environmental protection.  Products without independent innovation technology and people without soul, only one body, only to master the most scientific new technology, in order to be based on the highest point of victory, in order to defeat the opponent. 

It is necessary to cultivate high-quality professional talents

In order to break through key technologies, in addition to the need for sufficient RESEARCH and development funds, it is more important to be able to digest and absorb foreign advanced technologies, and comprehensively improve the reliability and safety of equipment comprehensive performance by innovative means integrating breakthrough and integration.  This requires high-quality compound talents with technical integration and innovation ability.  Due to the development history and capital structure of the industry, the extreme lack of high-quality talents has become an indisputable fact, and also become a bottleneck restricting the development of the industry's technical level. 


Contradiction between industry development pattern and lack of macro guidance The particularity of dairy packaging and processing machinery industry is manifested in: wide technological span, strong comprehensiveness, large market development space and so on.  However, the capital structure of the industry is relatively simple, the pattern is scattered, the mutual blockade between enterprises, technological monopoly, closed phenomenon is more serious.  At the technical level, most of them are low-level generic conventional equipment production, and high-quality talents are desperately lacking. There are only a handful of manufacturers with independent innovation and research and development capabilities.  The macro guidance of the industry belongs to several industry associations, and the government has formed a "three no-industry" without clear macro guidance, development support policies and technical supervision, which seriously restricts the improvement of the overall technical level and lags behind the development of the dairy industry.
