What is a vertical packing machine?
A vertical form fill seal (VFFS) packing machine is an automated packaging device that automatically forms bags from roll film and completes metering, filling, and sealing. The packaging process takes place vertically, resulting in a compact structure, small footprint, and suitability for continuous production.
This equipment is highly versatile and can package various materials such as powders, liquids, and granules. By changing different metering systems, it can be adapted to different products, making it widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, and daily chemical industries.
Working principle
The vertical packing machine completes the entire packaging process through a series of continuous actions. The packaging film enters the machine from a roll, is rolled into a cylindrical shape by the forming device, and then the side is sealed by the longitudinal sealing device to form a bag-like structure.
Subsequently, the transverse sealing device seals the bottom, and the metering system fills the bag with material according to a set weight or volume. Finally, the bag is sealed again laterally and cut to form an individually packaged finished product. The entire process is controlled by a PLC and servo system, ensuring stable operation and high precision.

Structural composition
Vertical packing machines mainly consist of a film feeding system, a forming device, a sealing device, a metering system, and a control system. Different types of materials require different metering methods; for example, granular materials commonly use measuring cups, powders are metered using screws, and liquids use pump-type metering systems.
This modular design gives the equipment excellent flexibility, allowing for quick switching between product types to meet diverse production needs.
Applications and Advantages
Vertical packing machines are widely used in the production of nuts, candies, coffee powder, seasonings, sauces, and daily chemical products. Their main advantages lie in their high degree of automation, fast packaging efficiency, good product consistency, and effective reduction of labor costs.
For companies that need to handle multiple material forms (powders, liquids, granules), vertical packaging machines are an efficient and reliable solution.
